October 2014

We have just finished an incredibly successful time at ATOC with our son JJ, who arrived here in Thailand barely a year ago. During that period he has learned new skills and refined existing ones every week that went by and has been able to do so thanks to the ATOC's philosophy of thorough one-on-one coaching and education by a team of the most wonderfully friendly and qualified staff I have come across. Our heartfelt gratitude to all of you!.

A Speech Therapist view of ATOC

I was warmly welcomed for a visit to Acorns To Oaks Centre (ATOC) — a private treatment and educational facility in a quiet residential area of Bangkok. This multidisciplinary center is largely run by and employs English-speaking expatriate therapists and educators from around the world. It is here that I began to learn about special education in Thailand in general, and in the expat community specifically. Read the full article at this link ..........

"Our son was attending ATOC from July 2007 until June 2010. During that time his reading and writing capabilies have improved significantly. He has also become much more confident using English (being his 2nd language).

I liked the professionalism of the consultants at ATOC to encourage the children in their learning efforts and also the warm and friendly atmosphere at the Centre. I can whole-heartedly recommend ATOC as a place where children get exactly the support they need."

"Finding the necessary support for children with Developmental Learning needs in Bangkok is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I should know as I faced the horrendous experience when I was looking for places that could help me in providing the care and developmental support I was so desperately looking for after the birth of my daughter, Nicky, who is a person with Down Syndrome.

We were fortunate that Alison and the team at ATOC came to the rescue and helped us to get Nicky started on the path to independence and confidence, blossoming into a wonderful child who has been integrated into a mainstream school with peers of her own age group.

I am thankful to ATOC and the entire staff for all their support and guidance, which continues today, while respecting our opinions, needs and preferences in providing Nicky with the solid foundation which we hope to continue to build on to help her face the challenges that the future will bring."

"My son has been attending Occupational Therapy at ATOC for just over a year twice a week. In that time his fine and gross motor skills have improved greatly along with his general muscle tone.

He enjoys going even though he finds it hard work sometimes and I have total peace of mind that he is being looked after by top professionals in a warm and caring environment.

I feel very lucky to have found such a fantastic place in Bangkok to help my son overcome his motor skill issues."
